Amplified mentorship program – Spotify

Hey women an non-binary engineering students,

Have you ever thought that a mentor in the tech industry is just the thing you need to support both your personal and professional growth?

This is your chance to join, Amplified – a Spotify mentoring program for women and non-binary students who are eager to grow their skills and get ready for a career within the tech industry.

During the 15 weeks program, you’ll be mentored by one of our skilled women or non-binary engineers. designers or product managers. Together with your mentor, you’ll set up goals and a plan for the mentoring program. The mentor will be there to support and coach you along the way, but you as a mentee will be responsible for driving your own development and setting the agenda for the meetings with your mentor.

Here is what a few of our Spotify mentors for the 2019 Amplified Mentoring Program have to say about why they joined this program.

Software Engineer

“I would like to give support and guidance in a time in a person's career that I know can raise a lot of questions and uncertainties. I'm really grateful for the people I've been able to vent those questions and uncertainties with when I was a student and I want to give that back to someone.

I've heard that statistics show that a lot of women/non-binary engineers quit engineering, I believe that lack of role models could be a part of the problem (I've felt that personally too!) and I think this initiative is a good way of solving that problem.”

Product Designer

“As a queer woman from South America that got the chance to be an intern here, I would like to pay back the mentoring I've received and how that affected my drive to learn and work with the opportunities I've been handed through my career.”

Machine Learning Engineer

“I have always been interested in inspiring more women to start a career in tech. Last Amplified I met two mentees that were interested in Machine Learning and I think it was very fun to share some of my own experiences. I have had mentors myself and think it is a very good way of growing. I would love to get the chance to pay back, by having a mentee myself. “
